Hi!
My name is James and I am a baritone and voice teacher. Teaching singing is my favorite thing in the world.
I believe in the importance of healthy, sustainable technique to help singers sing their favorite songs comfortably and confidently. All while welcoming conversation and curiosity in lessons so students feel heard and actively engaged in their learning.
Every voice is unique; no two voices function or sound exactly alike. That's the best part!
Vocal growth is a marathon not a race, it requires self-patience and learning to be okay with imperfections.
Every singer has their own strengths and challenges, we will face them together!

My studio is a safe space where students are welcome to be themselves and make mistakes while exploring their voice. As a transgender vocalist and educator, I am especially committed to making voice lessons accessible and affirming for all singers.
In my teaching, I enjoy working with all ages and genres, with experience teaching adults, children, and adolescents in public and private education settings. I am also committed to ongoing learning and regularly engage with current voice science and pedagogy research to ensure my teaching remains effective, informed, and responsive to my students’ needs.
